Glo is a Nigeria-based telecommunications company. When we met, it was in its infancy, it was called Globacom, its signage was all blue and red, it didn’t have a positioning and it was a late entrant in the market. It was, however, a world class organisation from Nigeria so we suggested they should be proud of that and harness it. We suggested they adopt the national colours of Nigeria – green and white. We suggested they shorten the name to Glo. And we gave them One Brilliant Idea: Glo with pride. Happily, they went with our suggestions. And ended up with a brand and work we’re all proud of.
